University of Edinburgh
About
University of Edinburgh is a prestigious public research university in Scotland, known for its research and education across various disciplines. UoE’s School of Biological Sciences will contribute with plant sampling across pilot sites and biochemical analysis to integrate N fluxes with crop performance.
Role in the project
UoE contributes to NitroScope through its expertise in environmental modelling, biogeochemical cycles and ecosystem analysis. Within WP3, WP5 and WP6, the University supports the development, evaluation and application of modelling approaches used to quantify nitrogen fluxes and associated uncertainties across different spatial scales.
In addition, the University of Edinburgh contributes to the analysis and interpretation of nitrogen budgets and scenario results, supporting the upscaling of field-level observations to national and European assessments. Its involvement strengthens the scientific robustness of NitroScope’s modelling framework and its relevance for evidence-based nitrogen management and policy support.
