RPTU
About
Rhineland-Palatinate Technical University of Kaiserslautern-Landau (RPTU) is a German technical university with a strong focus on natural sciences, computer science, engineering, and teacher education. Within the project, RPTU contributes modelling expertise to support nitrogen mitigation strategies and leverages its transdisciplinary experience to foster the adoption of NitroScope’s solutions by farmers.
Role in the project
RPTU contributes to NitroScope through its expertise in environmental modelling, soil–plant–atmosphere interactions, and nitrogen cycling. Within WP5, RPTU supports the development and refinement of process-based modelling approaches to simulate nitrogen fluxes under contrasting pedo-climatic conditions and management regimes.
In addition, RPTU contributes to model uncertainty analysis and scenario assessments, supporting the integration of field observations into robust simulations at regional and European scales. Through this work, RPTU strengthens NitroScope’s capacity to link detailed process understanding with large-scale nitrogen budget assessments and the development of decision-support tools.
