Institute for Development and Innovation

About

The Institute for Development and Innovation has been founded by researchers in the  field of economics with the mission to create economically independent individuals.

The vision of the Institute for Development and Innovation is to establish an economically and democratically developed society based on equal opportunities. To achieve its mission and vision, the Institute for Development and Innovation develops, advocates for, and implements economic policies through three programs.

Role in the project

IRI plays a key role in NitroScope by leading WP4 (Improving adoption of nitrogen management and conservation strategies). The institute is responsible for designing and implementing the project’s stakeholder engagement framework, mapping relevant actors, and assessing socio-economic, environmental and behavioural factors that influence the uptake of improved nitrogen management practices.

In addition, IRI leads the evaluation of mitigation strategies using socio-economic analysis and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), identifying barriers and enablers for adoption at farm level. Through close collaboration with farmers, advisors and other stakeholders, IRI ensures that NitroScope’s solutions are user-centred, feasible and aligned with real-world agricultural decision-making.
