IUNG representing NitroScope at the European Agricultural Forum 2026

The NitroScope project was presented at the European Agricultural Forum 2026, held on 1–2 April 2026 in Jasionka (Rzeszów), Poland.

The forum is one of the main agricultural events in Central and Eastern Europe, bringing together farmers, researchers, industry professionals and policymakers to discuss the future of agriculture.

The European Agricultural Forum focuses on practical challenges and future directions in agriculture, including:

  • the use of new technologies in farming
  • sustainability and environmental impact
  • data-driven decision making

It creates a space where different parts of the agri-food sector can exchange ideas and experiences.

NitroScope was presented by IUNG-PIB, contributing to discussions around nitrogen management and its role in sustainable agriculture.

The presentation focused on:

  • improving how nitrogen is monitored
  • reducing fertiliser losses
  • limiting N₂O emissions
  • adapting practices to different soil and climate conditions

The project’s approach is based on combining data, monitoring technologies and modelling to support more efficient nitrogen use.

Why this matters

Nitrogen management remains one of the key challenges in agriculture.

Better monitoring and more precise use of fertilisers can:

  • reduce environmental impact
  • improve efficiency for farmers
  • support climate-related goals

Events like the European Agricultural Forum are important because they connect research with real-world agricultural practices.

Taking part in the forum gave NitroScope the opportunity to present its work and engage with stakeholders across the agricultural sector.

The project continues to focus on developing tools and approaches that support more sustainable and data-driven farming across Europe.
