About
Ciências is a public university in Lisbon focused on natural and exact sciences, affiliated with FC-ID, a Portuguese research and development association. Together, they will provide access to Portuguese sites and support climate change scenario development.
Role in the project
FCiências contributes to NitroScope through its expertise in environmental monitoring, biogeochemical processes and ecosystem analysis, with a particular focus on Mediterranean and Lusitanean systems. Within WP3, FCiências supports data collection at regional and intensive monitoring sites in Portugal, providing high-quality datasets on soil properties, nitrogen dynamics and greenhouse gas fluxes.
In addition, FCiências contributes to the analysis and interpretation of nitrogen flux data and supports the integration of field measurements with modelling and remote sensing activities. Its involvement strengthens NitroScope’s capacity to capture nitrogen dynamics across heterogeneous landscapes and supports the upscaling of results to regional and European levels.
