Working in close partnership with the industry, Hahn-Schickard provides innovative products and technologies in the areas of sensors and actuators, system integration, cyber-physical systems, communication technology, software development, lab-on-a-chip and analytics, microelectronics, mounting and connection technology, micromounting, and reliability. Our services include the production of small and medium-sized series, as well as the transition to mass production.
Role in the project
Hahn-Schickard leads the development of advanced sensing technologies in NitroScope as coordinator of WP2. The institute designs and calibrates innovative proximal sensors and methodologies for continuous monitoring of soil nitrate and gaseous nitrogen emissions, including N₂O, ensuring high-quality, harmonised data across diverse European conditions.
In addition, Hahn-Schickard supports the integration of sensor data into NitroScope’s cloud platform and modelling framework, helping capture short-term variability in nitrogen fluxes and reduce uncertainty in nitrogen budgets and decision-support tools.
